Journal of Law & Medicine

All members of the College receive an online subscription to the Journal of Law and Medicine as part of their membership benefits, except for Student and Honorary members.

The Journal is published by ThomsonReuters, and access to the online version is via the WestLaw platform. ACLM manages our members' subscriptions to the Journal.

The online subscription includes access to a wide range of additional resources, such as:

Activation and cancellation of your subscription

Members who do not activate their online Westlaw access by 15 May each year will be deleted from the system. You may contact ACLM to request to have your subscription restored at any time. 

Please also contact us if you no longer require access. This helps the College avoid paying for unused accounts.

Accessing your subscription

When you become a member, you will receive a "Welcome to Westlaw" email prompting you to set up your online access by creating a login. Once set up, please follow these steps to find the Journal of Law & Medicine:

  1. Log in here - Westlaw Australia Sign on
  2. Once you log in, enter any text in "Client ID" field
  3. Click "Start a new session"
  4. Click the top right person icon 
  5. Click "Subscription". This will take you to the areas that are accessible in your subscription, including the Journal of Law & Medicine located under "J"

Forgot your username or password?

If you have forgotten your Westlaw login details, you can use the "Forgot Username" or "Forgot Password" links on the WestLaw website. If you are unsure which email address your subscription is linked to, please contact ACLM. Thomson Reuters Technical Assistance team is always able to assist too.

Hard copies are being phased out and are no longer offered.
